AI Policy Lead–Government Relations

As Refonte continues to grow its Government Relations function, we are seeking an AI Policy Lead to assist in our interactions with Government Agencies, Industry Trade Associations, and Standards Development Organizations.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving favorable Policy and Regulatory outcomes and the skill to align business goals with policy successes.

Responsibilities:

    Lead Refonte’s policy engagement with key federal agencies.

    Lead and support interactions with standards development organizations and industry trade associations on behalf of the Company.

    Work to grasp business objectives related to the portfolio and translate them into policy successes.

    Assist in shaping Refonte’s government relations strategy and priorities.

    Lead the development of Refonte’s regulatory comments.
  • check
    Advise and brief Refonte's leadership on policies affecting artificial intelligence.

    Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.
  • check
    Monitor policy and regulatory changes for potential impacts on Refonte’s business.

Necessary skills and qualifications:

  • check
    4 to 6 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs or government-related roles
  • check
    Experience in effectively securing consensus on priorities within trade associations and standards bodies
  • check
    Experience in leading company responses to rulemakings, requests for comments, and similar processes.
  • check
    Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • check
    Previous technical experience, such as publishing research or peer-reviewed papers, addressing technology policy within the government, working at a technical government agency in the Executive Branch, or having experience in the technology sector.

    A history of managing multiple works streams simultaneously

    Experience working in a startup environment or at a tech company

Compensation packages at Refonte for eligible roles include a base salary, equity, and benefits. The salary range displayed in each job posting represents the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, based on factors such as work location, job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Employees in eligible roles may also receive equity compensation, subject to approval by the Board of Directors. Your recruiter can provide details about the specific salary range for your preferred location and confirm whether the role will be eligible for an equity grant. In addition to salary and equity, you will receive benefits such as comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, and generous PTO. Additional benefits, such as a commuter stipend, may also be available.

The base salary range for this full-time position in Washington, DC is $169,200—$203,040 USD.
